Trongate 103, Glasgow (2011):
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of that fateful day in downtown Manhattan, New York that was to provoke the next decade of international unrest; and is a day I will never forget as a student on my way to my first day of drawing classes in TriBeCa, packed lunch and scrolls of paper at the ready. Ready to spend the next 8 hours a spectator to a day of confusion and sadness- and several years of unfathomable images. Which, at last - are ready to be drawn.
There will be ceremonies happening all over the world to mark this occasion- and 2012 will mark the year that Ground Zero opens its 9/11 Memorial Centre- with later opening of One World Trade Centre. This group of drawings concludes a pocket of personal quiet stories that can now be laid to rest.
